Viet Nam’ s War Memorial Replica Toppled by Friday’s Storms
Friday’s storms were powerful enough to rip down a 10,000-pound granite replica of Washington D.C.’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on display for a weekend music and ribs festival in Ottawa. The model is owned by Vietnam and All Veterans of Brevard, of Florida, who’s managery says it is the first time the replica has ever gone down. Volunteers worked four hours to get it back up. They had to rebuild one badly-twisted frame that holds some of the granite. They also put down sandbags so the memorial wouldn’t be toppled again.
